Separation

Blue topped and white bottomed,
Set with a tie and black shoes,
We marched proudly through the cordon.
In the name of an installation,
We took various posts,
Of various ranks,
But our hearts remained as one.

Packed with enthusiasm,
And team spirit,
We filled our hearts with courage,
Confidence, love and fortitude,
To accomplish important tasks,
And to bring our beloved school,
To greater heights.

No doubt we quarreled,
No doubt we had disagreements,
But we never gave up.
We brought our heads together,
We joined our hands together,
In the name of prefects,
We stayed as a family.

The most brilliant inventions in history,
The clocks,
Would have lost track,
Of the time we had spent together.
The high soaring birds,
Would have been astounded,
At the height of our concord.
The rough seas,
Would have been calmed,
By the peace that we shared.

Playful puppies and kittens,
Would have been confounded,
At the amount of fun we shared together.
A mother hen,
Would have stopped fussing about her chicks,
After seeing,
The love and care that we had,
For each other.
The most horrendous piece of music,
Would have been turned into a nocturne,
After feeling the harmony we had within.

The most beautiful parrot,
Would have envied our inner beauty.
The most arrogant peacock,
Would have envied,
The way we carried out our duties,
With pride and poise.
The seven colors of the rainbow,
Would have been discolored,
By the colors of our dreams.
The Niagara Falls,
Would have changed the direction of its flow,
Unable to withstand,
The pain of falling down,
On our sturdy and strong determination.
The angels in heaven,
Would have been hankering to join us,
In our spiritual journey,
To make SMK USJ 4,
The best amongst the best.

Now the time comes,
For us to go our own paths,
With tears of sorrow,
And a heart weakened by grief,
We strengthen our spirits,
And mend our deranged flow of passion,
To experience this separation,
Only to experience a new phase in life,
Whoever we may become,
However we may live,
No matter where we are,
Be it in the deepest oceans,
On the highest mountain,
Or the furthest land,
This divine encounter that we have had,
Will be cherished deep in our hearts…
Forever.

Stars are many, sky is one,
Races are many, man is one,
Names are many, God is one,
Students are many, Prefects are one
