The Balcony

Tears streamed down my cheeks,
I held his hand and uttered his name,
No response.
His eyes remained closed,
His face pale and drained,
His body cold and almost lifeless,
It was an hour ago,
That I received the call,
As I rushed to the hospital,
I kept my fingers crossed,
And my lips busy with prayers,
But it was when i saw him,
I realized that chances were slim,
Due to his almost fatal fall,
From the risky balcony.
